DARE TO DREAM WITHIN A POSITIVE CIRCLE
DARE TO DREAM WITHIN A POSITIVE CIRCLE
“Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning”.
I would love to take credit for this quote, but it’s not mine. A friend sent it to me to encourage me in my endeavors and I am sharing these wonderful words with all of my friends. Many of you have learned as I have that it is a wonderful thing to have positive people in your inner circle that really want to see your dreams come true.
This quote started my mind to thinking about how powerful dreams can be, and how the excitement stirred from these dreams can not only change, but also improve our lives and the lives of those around us. Dreams are certainly a peek into the possibilities that the future can hold for each of us, but first we must remember to never stop dreaming! Dreams should be infinite, never an ending, once one goal has been reached within the original dream, the mind refuses to allow us to stop there. I can’t be the only one to have witnessed that the more I work towards achieving my “dreams”, the bar is constantly being raised to allow my dream to spread it’s beautiful wings as wide as God sees fit.
For example: When we began putting Pinky Swear together it was simply a way for girlfriends to get together on a regular basis, to fellowship and encourage each other as only true friends can do. But once the pen hit the paper and the dream was voiced into the air to those around us, we noticed right away two things happened. 1) We received encouraging words and an outreach of love and suggestions from those interested in being apart of our endeavor. 2) We received questions and negative responses from those that did not get the vision and couldn’t see the purpose. We could have listened to the #2’s but instead chose to focus on those who saw the need and wanted to see the organization succeed.
We were determined to stay focused on our dream…..our goal…our plan of action! It was a mental choice to not be discouraged by those that were not meant to play a major role in it’s conception.
Pinky Swear is growing daily because of women like yourself, those women that we have surrounded ourselves with who are not afraid to dream out loud.
We were blessed to have found our circle of positive encourages who we call friends.
Now it’s our turn to offer the same love and encouragement to each of you, as you reach for your own dreams. We are here for you; Ladies, Pinky Swear is truly your positive network of committed friendship.
LET'S GET MOTIVATED
LET'S GET MOTIVATED
Stop and Smell the roses, Stop and touch the bark on a tree, Stop and see those around you, Stop and taste life!

Four senses that we were given, all of which the majority of us use every single day. But because we have smelled, touched, seen and tasted so much of it unfortunately we have become desensitized.
We are bombarded with so many things in one day that actually “experiencing” even the simplest things have escaped us.
When was the last time you found yourself mesmerized by the beauty of nature? Whether it’s a flower, bug, rain, clouds, a pet or even another human being. Not just seeing these things but being compelled to stop in wonderment? (No, ladies I’m not just referring to that really cute guy with shoulders like Adonis!) smile
How did God decide what would do what? What was his ultimate purpose for his creations?
Allow yourself the chance every once in a while to just enjoy being able to breath in and smile. Begin using all of your senses again today.
Life is short but can be very rewarding if we learn to stop and taste it!
We are asking for suggestions for those of us that have gotten so caught up in the day to day that they have literally forgotten how to enjoy the simple things in life. Got a suggestion for your sisters? Give us your favorites........
I Am The Key To My Happiness
I Am The Key To My Happiness
Above are seven words that have changed my life! Isn’t it funny how we can hear something so much that we actually begin to discount it’s relevance. Well, that’s exactly how simple those words were in my life. I said them but I didn’t live them.
“What do you mean by that Kinia?” I’ll tell you.
There was a time when I thought that my happiness was determined by what was going on around me, if nothing in my direct eye sight was happening then I would sit back and wish for something. Mind you now, I never would have admitted that back then, but if you watched my actions even a blind man could see that I needed interaction. I spent the early years waiting for something to make me happy. Sad but true! I lived a normal live, Husband and kids, even a dog. I did everything to ensure their happiness. When it came to my family I knew that happiness was the key to a productive life. When it came to me, that was another story, I was always too busy to figure out what would make me happy.
As life would have it, things happened and life changed. The kids grew up and the husband……well he had to go too! LOL
All of these changes lead me to realize that life was moving on and if I wasn’t careful it would leave me standing on the side waving goodbye. Something had to change, I finally realized that nothing was wrong with the world. But there was something wrong in how I perceived myself in the world.
The change started within me, I am now proud to announce that I have discovered the fountain of youth inside of myself, and these very words set me free: “ I AM THE KEY TO MY HAPPINESS”. This is not a question, it is a statement of realization. I know now that I am the key because only I can give permission to those around me to add to or take away from my happiness. I am in control of me and when I’m not, it’s because I’ve given that power over to someone else. What a wonderful feeling I have now knowing that I control my life, I am responsible for my happiness.
This statement has also allowed me to unlock the doors of personal fulfillment! But before walking through those doors I needed a plan, I had to ask myself some very important questions. The first question being what is my idea of happiness? I believe that it must have taken me a hot minute to answer that question, happiness is being able to enjoy all of my life regardless of my present state. Meaning that regardless of whatever is going on in my life at the time, I will always stay grounded enough to realize that trouble don’t last always. Second question, When am I most happy? That one was easy, I love people. So I know that any time I can be around others, happiness can’t be far away. It doesn’t matter if I’m with family or friends, heck there have been times when I’ve had crazy fun with strangers and was as happy as a lark! Friendship is the ultimate medicine, it cures the soul. I’ve been blessed enough to have the best friends in my family, my sister, mother and daughter just to name a few. I won’t even begin to mention the countless women that have been friends during the hard times and the good ones! The women that have shared times that can’t be taken for granted. Yes, I’ve found happiness from sharing memorable moments with the powerful women around me!
Last but not least, the ultimate question. How do I ensure that this happiness is not short lived? Create a circle of women who are also searching for a well balanced happy life! Yes, I’m referring to you. Don’t look around, I’m talking to you. The beautiful woman reading this. How long have you thought to yourself that there has to be more to life than just going to work and coming home? Or repeating the same things day after day hoping that tomorrow will bring an opportunity to change the mundane? Just because you’d like to enjoy your spare time a little more, does not mean that you’re not happy with your life. Not at all, it just means that you realize that life has much more to offer and you’re not doing all you can do to enjoy it! Pinky Swear has vowed to take away the excuses that so many of us use:
1. I can never find anything too do in this city, even though it seems as though something is always going on.
2. I would love to get out sometimes but who would I go with?
3. Who has the time to search for activities anyway?
4. I’m too busy
5. I don’t have the money
Well ladies, I’m here to tell you that life is too short to just sit by and watch it pass by!
YOU REALLY ARE THE KEY TO YOUR HAPPINESS
Isn’t it time that you took that key and unlocked a life time of happiness through building lasting friendships, years of memories and fun events that sometimes will require a pinky swear promise between girl friends?
It’s definitely time for you to treat yourself to a little personal time with the girls
See you at the next event!
